Six Top 100 Recruits Alabama Football has put itself in a great spot to land
This summer, the Alabama Football team dominated recruiting landing multiple commitments each weekend as Kalen DeBoer quickly dispelled the doubts that he can't recruit. The Tide approaches the June 25th dead period with the Nation's fourth-ranked recruiting class but, this class could quickly rise over the next week. The Tide currently holds commitments from four top-100 recruits but may add a few of the following recruits over the Summer and Fall.
Ty Haywood - 8th Ranked Recruit - 2nd Ranked Offensive Tackle
As one of the Nation's top recruits, Haywood has been sought after by nearly every program in the country. The one thing Alabama has in its favor that other schools lack is fandom as Ty Haywood grew up an Alabama Football fan. After getting Haywood on campus for the first time a few weeks ago, the Tide has picked up a ton of steam in Haywood's recruitment including a few crystal ball predictions. From now on, Haywood has said he's focusing on Alabama, Oklahoma, and Florida State while Alabama appears to be in the Drivers Seat. Landing Haywood would give the Alabama Football team arguably the Nation's best offensive line class with Micah DeBose, Jackson Lloyd, Mal Waldrep, and Michael Carroll.
Caleb Cunningham - 15th Ranked Recruit - 2nd Ranked Wide Receiver
This weekend, arguably the biggest recruiting priority for the Alabama Football team was attracting five-star receiver Caleb Cunningham to Alabama especially as he considered SEC Rivals Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Auburn. The Tide did an incredible job with Cunningham saying the following:
"They are number one"
- Caleb Cunningham
The Tide is now the team to beat in the recruitment of Caleb Cunningham and heading into the June 25th recruiting dead period the Tide may be able to bolster their fourth recruiting class.
Kaliq Lockett - 18th Ranked Recruit - 6th Ranked Wide Receiver
Before landing Keelon Russell, Alabama was nowhere to be found on Kaliq Lockett's recruiting board as he was considering Texas, LSU, Texas A&M, and Florida. After landing Keelon Russell, the Tide almost instantly got a visit with Kaliq Lockett and the visit went great for Alabama and they're now viewed as one of the top contenders to land the Texas Native. Texas will be hard to overcome but, after a great official visit and with Keelon Russell onboard The Tide will certainly have a shot when Lockett commits in a few weeks.
Dijon Lee - 30th Ranked Recruit - 5th Ranked Cornerback
In terms of having a date for his commitment, Dijon Lee may be the Tide's next commitment and the first Five-Star Recruit Kalen DeBoer has landed at Alabama. Lee will be committing on June 28th on the 24/7 Sports YouTube and the Tide are heavily favored to land Dijon Lee. This long felt like a battle between Georgia and Alabama but, the Tide have seemingly blown past the Bulldogs.
Akylin Dear - 36th Ranked Recruit - 2nd Ranked Running Back
Early on in the Spring, Akylin Dear committed to the Ole Miss Rebels however, he has continued to take official visits. Freshman Running Back Daniel Hill and Freshman Receiver Ryan Williams made a massive impact on Dear's official visit a few weeks ago, and the Tide now have picked up some serious momentum to flip the Nation's second-ranked running back. This week has seen Ole Miss lose three of its commitments and as the Tide continues to pick up momentum Dear could be a fourth.
Derek Meadows - 37th Ranked Recruit - 7th Ranked Wide Receiver
As the Crimson Tide had several five-star recruits on campus this weekend, Derek Meadows visiting Tuscaloosa went under the radar. Coming into the visit Notre Dame looked far and away like the leader to land Derek Meadows however, Kalen DeBoer's staff made a strong impression. Meadows doesn't plan to take any additional visits before he announces his commitment on September 1st but, the Tide have put themselves in contention with Notre Dame and LSU.
Ty Jackson - 76th Ranked Recruit - 6th Ranked Linebacker
The Tide currently holds commitments from five linebackers and sits in a great place with linebacker/Wolf Dawson Merritt but, that didn't stop the team from pushing for Ty Jackson. The Tide came in with a strong chance to land Ty Jackson and will remain in a great place heading into the fall when Jackson will return for the Tide's matchup with Georgia.
Dawson Merritt - 87th Ranked Recruit - 10th Ranked Linebacker
Heading into the summer, it was a two-team race for top linebacker Dawson Merrit as Alabama was battling with Nebraska. After visits to Tuscaloosa and Lincoln the Tide look like the heavy favorite to land Dawson Merritt. A decision can happen any day. The Tide are in a prime position to add, yet another top 100 recruit.
