Why the Alabama Football team will be better in 2024

Best transfer class yet?

Under Nick Saban, the Alabama Football program never really fully dove into the transfer portal, and was instead content to occasionally bring in players to fit needs. This season, Alabama fully dove into the transfer portal by bringing in eight players, all of which have high upside for the team.

Domani Jackson will slot in as the team's top cornerback heading into the 2024 season. Jackson has All-American ability, and could play his way into being a first-round pick this year. Parker Brailsford was one of the nation's top centers last season and will be an immediate upgrade over Seth McLaughlin with the potential to become an All-American this season.

Germie Bernard was a vital piece of one of the nation's top receiving corps, and will be an immediate starter at Alabama. LT Overton will be key to replacing Justin Eboigbe on the interior of the defensive line and, as a former five-star recruit, could be an underrated piece heading into the season. Keon Sabb will fill the role of Caleb Downs and may be one of the better safeties in the country.

The team also added a few pieces that could play big roles down the line if they don't see the field this season. Austin Mack has plenty of potential to be the team's long-term plan at quarterback and has shown some ability early into the spring. Naquil Betrand is a developmental prospect at offensive tackle and could potentially play his way into the lineup this year. The class overall has the pieces to be the best transfer class that Alabama has brought in during this iteration of college football.
