Who are the announcers for Alabama vs. Tennessee?
Alabama and Tennessee will meet for the 106th time on Saturday afternoon in Knoxville in the latest iteration of The Third Saturday in October rivalry.
The game will kick off at 2:30 CST, a familar time for this matchup. For years, Alabama and Tennessee played on CBS in the prime afternoon slot. It's a familiar time, but a new network.
The game will be broadcast on ABC, which marks the third time Alabama has played on ABC in 2024 and the second consecutive game.
The Crimson Tide faced off with Georgia on ABC with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstriet on the call. Last week, it was Joe Tessitore and Jesse Palmer.
For this week, Sean McDonough is the play-by-play guy and former Crimson Tide QB Greg McElroy will provide the color. Molly McGrath will be the sideline reporter.
McDonough is a veteran broadcaster who has worked for ESPN since 2000. He's widely considered one of the best play-by-play guys in the country.
Funnily enough, McElroy's inclusion probably elicited eye rolls from both fanbases. Tennessee fans will groan to have a Tide alumn on the call assuming he won't be able to hide his bias. Alabama fans will groan because to them it has always felt like McElroy has tried too hard to be impartial and it has often come off as anti-Alabama as a result.
McGrath has been a reporter for ESPN since 2016 and is often paired with McDonough. McGrath was the sideline reporter for the 2021 National Championsip Game that featured Alabama against Georgia.
