The long-awaited summer recruiting run for Kalen DeBoer and Alabama football is officially here. On Sunday, 5-star LB Xavier Griffin committed to the Crimson Tide, choosing Alabama over Ohio State, Texas, and Florida State.

Griffin became the third 5-star commitment for Alabama in this class, and the second in 72 hours. On Thursday, 5-star RB Ezavier Crowell committed to the Crimson Tide, also eschewing a major monetary offer from Texas to do so.

Alabama is loading up in the 2026 class. They now have a class ranked inside the Top 10, and if things break the way that experts assume, the Crimson Tide has a realistic chance of signing the top class in the country.

If only Kalen DeBoer could recruit...

Griffin and Crowell joined an Alabama class that already featured one 5-star prospect: CB Jorden Edmonds from Georgia. The trio headlines a strong class put together by DeBoer, GM Courtney Morgan, and the rest of the staff. They could ultimately be joined by three more pretty soon.

These three additional 5-stars are trending toward Alabama

Alabama is favored to land three more 5-stars in the 2026 class, two of which are scheduled to make their announcements this week.

WR Cederian Morgan, an Alexander City, AL native, will announce his commitment on Wednesday. The Crimson Tide is the heavy favorite for the nation's No. 2 WR.

On Saturday, 5-star safety Jireh Edwards will make his announcement. Edwards was predicted to Alabama a few weeks ago, coming out of his official visit to Tuscaloosa. He canceled his remaining official visits following the trip to Alabama, further signaling the likelihood that he would end up in this class.

While there isn't a date set yet for 5-star EDGE Anthony 'Tank' Jones, the Mobile, AL native could also join the Crimson Tide's class in the coming weeks. Jones's recruitment is the most up in the air still, but a recruiting insider did recently report he believed Alabama was the leader for Jones. There's still plenty of recruiting to happen for him, however. He is expected to make a decision sometime in July or August before the beginning of his senior season.

DeBoer came to Alabama with no one questioning his schematic acumen, but big question marks over his ability to recruit in the cutthroat SEC. He answered the questions emphatically in the 2025 cycle, with Alabama landing a Top-5 class.

Any questions that persisted are being resoundingly answered again in the 2026 cycle. As good as last year's class was, this year's group could be even better.

DeBoer is stocking the cupboards in Tuscaloosa with elite talent, recruiting at a level that even Nick Saban would be proud of.
