The Alabama Crimson Tide returns to SEC play and takes on the University of Kentucky Wildcats Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium for homecoming.

Alabama and Kentucky will meet for the 40th time in the history of the two programs. Alabama enters Saturday’s contest with a 362-1 record all-time against UK, including a 9-0 mark in Tuscaloosa. The Tide defeated Kentucky, 48-7, in Lexington in the last meeting between the two teams in 2013. Alabama came away with a 17-14 win in the Wildcats’ last appearance in Tuscaloosa on Oct. 4, 2008, in that season’s SEC home opener for the Tide.

Nick Saban is 12-2 all-time in Southeastern Conference home openers spanning his time at Alabama and LSU and have outscored its opponents by a score of 434-227. He is 9-1 at Alabama and his teams have outscored its foes by a 282-129 mark during his nine years at Alabama.

Kentucky seeks its third consecutive victory when it travels to top-ranked Alabama for a Saturday night date with the Crimson Tide. It will be the Wildcats’ first trip to Tuscaloosa since 2008 and only the third appearance in Bryant-Denny Stadium in the past 20 years. The Wildcats scored an impressive 17-10 win over South Carolina last Saturday.  Offensively, running backs Stanley “Boom” Williams and Benny Snell Jr. churned their way to 196 yards and two touchdowns last week against South Carolina, closing the Gamecocks out with a game-winning fourth quarter scoring drive that featured 11 consecutive running plays.
