It’s finally Friday, Crimson Tide fans! Things have slowed down a bit at the Capstone (thank goodness), but Bama baseball and softball each have a series to take you through the weekend.

ICYMI: Nick Saban Doesn’t Need Your Thoughts On Arrests Or Discipline

Alabama softball will be hosting the first round of the NCAA Regional Tournament in Tuscaloosa this afternoon. The ladies of the Crimson Tide take on the Samford Bulldogs at Rhoads Stadium, with the first pitch scheduled for 4p.m. Central Time.

The Tide is making it’s 18th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and this is the 12th consecutive year that Bama has been a 16-seed or higher.

If you can’t make it to Tuscaloosa, cheer for the Crimson Tide women and catch the fast-pitch action on the SEC Network.

Alabama Crimson Tide baseball fell to the 10th-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks last night in the first of a three-game series at The New Joe in Tuscaloosa. The Gamecocks jumped out early with a homer in the first, and were up 4-0 over the Crimson Tide by the third. Bama found their bats and battled back strong in the fifth to even the score.

As we’ve come to expect, Alabama baseball has been just like your high school girlfriend who always wore the short skirts showing some leg but wouldn’t let you get past first base.

Just when things started to look promising, the Crimson Tide blew the tie, giving up two more runs in the sixth. Nothing else interesting really happened after that point, and the final score stood at 6-4 Gamecocks.

More from Bama Hammer

If you feel like being a teenager again and getting worked up with very little promise of a happy ending, tune in to game two of this series tonight on SECN+ at 7p.m. Central Time.
