Well folks, the Crimson Tide baseball team has been knocked completely out of the SEC Tournament in Hoover. Following a Wednesday evening loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs, the Tide moved to the Loser’s Bracket in the double-elimination tournament and faced the Florida Gators late yesterday afternoon.
Things looked bleak as Florida jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first. Bama had some hope though, because Florida’s ace pitcher, who had been scheduled to start – SEC Pitcher of the Year Logan Shore – was out with a stomach bug.

The Crimson Tide scored three huge runs in the bottom of the second, almost making us think for a second that we had a chance! As expected, Florida answered Bama with a trio of runs themselves in the top of the third, and the score stood 4-3 Gators until the bottom of the seventh.
One more run apiece from the Tide and the Gators would eventually set the 5-4 final score. The loss meant that Alabama will be returning only as spectators for the remaining SEC Tournament games. The NCAA Tournament selections announcement will be made Monday May 30th at noon Eastern Time.
Number six Alabama Crimson Tide softball will face the 11th ranked Washington Huskies in the NCAA Super Regionals tonight. These two teams squared off against each other this time last year, and Alabama beat the Huskies twice to control the region. Tune in tonight at 8p.m. Central Time to cheer on the Crimson Tide to another victory. Good luck, ladies, and Roll Tide!
