We were waiting on some big Crimson Tide football recruiting news today, and boy, did they deliver!

ICYMI: Crimson Tide Well Represented On Schlabach’s Preseason All-American Team

All week, Crimson Tide fans have been playing the Waiting Game with several recruits. Markail Benton, four-star linebacker and the number six overall recruit in the state of Alabama chose the Tide over Auburn and Florida State. Benton was previously thought to be squarely in Auburn’s camp. At the last minute, he made the always right decision to go with the Tide over both the Tigers and Seminoles.

More from Bama Hammer

This afternoon brought even more exciting news when Alabama landed the number one kicker in the nation in Brandon Ruiz. Crimson Tide fans were let down earlier in the year when the previous number one kicker committed elsewhere. However, no one will be disappointed when they see the video posted on Ruiz’s Twitter page of him NAILING a 76 yard field goal!

The 5-foot-10, 165-pounder hails from Gilbert, AZ and was primarily recruited by the Crimson Tide’s Bobby Williams. He held offers from one other SEC program in Tennessee, but like today’s fellow commit Benton, made the right decision to come to Tuscaloosa and play for the Tide. Since the 2016 season is Adam Griffith’s final year of eligibility, Bama fans everywhere can rest easy knowing that we have secured booming special teams reinforcement for the next several years.

Alabama will assuredly be waiting on more recruiting and commitment news throughout the coming months, but for now at least, the waiting game is on hold. (Thank goodness)
