To celebrate the Fourth of July, the SEC Network and SEC teams joined together today to tweet the Pledge of Allegiance.

ICYMI: Alabama Football Gets Violation for Impermissible Decoration?

Most SEC fans fight like cats and dogs every single day of the year. Not because we hate each other (well, maybe a little bit) but because we have so much passion for our respective teams.

Even with all of the fighting, let an outsider talk trash and the whole conference usually will join forces.

All of the SEC teams joined forces for other reasons this Independence Day and it wasn’t for an outsider. It was to celebrate our freedom in the United States of America.

The SEC Network Twitter account started things off with a single tweet of the flag and the words “We pledge”. And it got better. Check it out.

More from Bama Hammer

See? We can all come together when it’s something that matters. There’s nothing like some conference pride on Independence Day to show some pride and appreciation for your country.

SEC Media Days will be here next week and then not long after that, the college football season gets started. I would guess after that all bets are off at least for a little while.

One thing about teams and folks in the south is that they will come together when it’s needed. We saw that a few days ago with the passing of Tennessee’s legendary coach Pat Summitt and we see it today on Independence Day.
