Stop by Druid City Brewing to see Saban and His Disciples in its newest piece of artwork just in time for SEC Media Days.

ICYMI: Tide Commit Tua Tagovailoa Wins Elite 11 And The Opening MVP

Druid City Brewing Company is known as much for its owners’ senses of humor as it is for its craft beers. Co-owners Bo Hicks and Elliott Roberts work to create an upbeat atmosphere in the Tuscaloosa brewery, and one way they do that is by updating their crazy chalkboard and bringing in original art by local artists.

This time, artist Rich Marcks painted a magnificent satire of Leonardo DaVinci’s famous Last Supper – and Nick Saban is front and center as Jesus Christ himself.

The 13 other SEC head coaches surround Saban as the disciples, appropriate roles for all of them, considering Saint Nick has schooled most of them a time or two in his tenure at the Capstone. If you look closely, you can see that Saban’s plate is piled high with Little Debbie oatmeal cookies, a favorite snack of the Crimson Tide’s head ball coach. Les Miles, on the far right, has a corn dog in front of him. (Google LSU fans and see what happens in auto-complete).

If you’re wondering, Saban and each SEC coach was chosen for his particular spot on purpose. We’ll let you figure out the reasons…  (Shout out to AL.com’s Ben Flanagan for the complete list)

Normally, the artwork at Druid City Brewery is drawn on a large chalkboard, then erased when a new idea comes to Hicks and Roberts. This time, the pair requested that the painting be created on separate panels they could place in front of the chalkboard, then auction off when they were finished with them. The Red Barn, a charity that provides equestrian therapy for children and those with special needs, will benefit from the proceeds of the auction.
