Wednesday will bring Alabama’s turn in the spotlight during 2016 SEC Media Days. Here’s what we can expect from Nick Saban and company.

ICYMI: SEC Media Days: Where Are All Of The National Media’s Tough Questions?

SEC Media Days are more than halfway over. So far, we’ve heard very little that most would consider news-worthy from Gus Malzahn, Jim McElwain, Derek Mason, and Kevin Sumlin. Kirby Smart talked a little about his time at Alabama, Dan Mullen ticked a lot of people off, and Butch Jones used every coaching cliché in the book.

But tomorrow will be different.

The minute Alabama rolls in to the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover, everything will be turned upside down. The crowds will undoubtedly be larger than it has been or will be for any other team. Fans will be clamoring for autographs from Nick Saban and Alabama’s three player representatives Jonathan Allen, OJ Howard, and Eddie Jackson. Flashes will blind onlookers while everyone tried to get a picture of the best that Bama has to offer.

And then over one thousand members of the media will have their chance to ask the questions we have all been wanting to hear.  We can expect the standard Media Days speak, in the form of

“What do you expect in the coming season?”

and

“How will Alabama fare after replacing the seniors who graduated and those that left early for the NFL, including Heisman winner Derrick Henry?”

Blah Blah Blah.

Once the boring initial questions are asked, it will be time to get to the good stuff. We can count on several of the more outspoken reporters to give us a lot of discussion material on the following topics:

More from Bama Hammer

*Cam Robinson and Lawrence “Hootie” Jones’ arrests this past May, the decision of the Louisiana DA not to pursue prosecution, and the punishments Nick Saban and Alabama dealt to the players on their own.

*Transfers of several well-known players, and the current state of recruiting.

*The annual quarterback mystery. Will it be Cooper Bateman? Blake Barnett? David Cornwell? Jalen Hurts? It is guaranteed this question will be asked, and 99% guaranteed that it will NOT be answered. Don’t get your hopes up.

*Assistant coaching changes, including Alabama’s new defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt – will we see the same style of no-holds-barred action we were used to under now-Georgia HC Kirby Smart?

*Running backs – With Henry gone to the Titans, Bo Scarborough and Damien Harris will likely split carries, but who will take the lead spot?

These five topics are just the tip of the iceberg. There will surely be more to come, and if you follow some of the more sensationalist-style media outlets, you know that some people will ask ANYTHING if they think they can get someone like Saban to trip up a little. Don’t bank on it happening. But they will try.
