Nick Saban is reportedly blocking a Crimson Tide’s requested transfer, Bama was ranked a measly fourth in another poll, and Twitter is still crazy.

The news of the hour is that Nick Saban is reportedly blocking Alabama Crimson Tide reserve DB Maurice Smith’s transfer to the Georgia Bulldogs. No one really blames Saban for not wanting to let Smith go; he has two career starts at Bama already and looked promising as the season quickly approaches.

However, Smith worked with Kirby Smart, former Bama defensive coordinator and current UGA head coach, for several years, so it’s understandable that he’d want to continue playing for Smart. At this point, it’s just a he-said-she-said, but Smith’s Mama sure isn’t happy about it.

Most of you have probably seen (and are ticked off) that the Alabama Crimson Tide were ranked fourth in the AP Top 100 football programs of the 80 years since the AP has been putting out the weekly list. This follows the release of the “Greatest Program” rankings from last week where the Crimson Tide came in second behind the Oklahoma Sooners.

More from Bama Hammer

This hasn’t sat well with Bama fans, because, well, we’re pretty !@#$ proud of our program. Many a Twitter fight broke out yesterday as Tiders sent out annoyed tweets at any writer who dared to say the list was correct.

Speaking of Twitter, the circus continues following the enactment of the NCAA rule allowing coaches to retweet, like, and share posts from recruits. If you do not have the social media app or have never made an account on the website, it’s recommended that you do it as soon as humanly possible so you don’t miss a minute of this hilarity.
