The SEC Network announced Thursday plans to carry the halftime performances from the bands in the conference this college football season.

Do miss seeing your favorite team’s college band if you are stuck at home for the game? The SEC Network has plans to fix that.

For games that the network broadcasts this season, the halftime performances will be carried in their entirety on the Watch ESPN App.

More from Bama Hammer

When I was younger, I remember you could get a good glimpse of the bands during halftime but the stations started to evolve away from that and started to put more of the talking heads in front of us. It’s great to see the SEC Network step up and also to see they recognize college football for all the pageantry involved, no matter the importance of the particular game.

“Each year we look for new ways to further enhance our presentation of college football for the viewer,” said ESPN coordinating producer Steve Ackels in a released statement. “We are particularly interested in opportunities to visually showcase the fanfare of an SEC game. The infrastructure that has been built at SEC schools offers a unique opportunity for us to capture the incredible halftime shows that dazzle hundreds of thousands every weekend.”

“The fanfare of an SEC football game is like nothing else you’ll find in sports and it’s our job at SEC Network to find ways to bring it home”, said Ackels.

We fully agree.
