Round 7, Pick 224 – Fast-forward another 50 selections since Tennessee last picked. The Titans have 3 picks in the final round with a lot of great talent likely still on the board. There might even be two Alabama football stars still available at a position of need for the Titans.
Incredibly, there are also two names that Alabama football fans might recognize still on the board as well. Lamar Jackson and A.J. Green. No not that Lamar Jackson or A.J. Green but two DBs the Titans might consider here.
The players Tennessee will potentially be looking at here are Shyheim Carter, Jared Mayden, Lamar Jackson (NEB), A.J. Green (Ok St.), Shea Patterson (Mich), and Rodrigo Blakenship. The biggest need is at DB and considering they still have two more picks coming up they will likely take their pick of best DB on the board.
That DB for me is…
Round 7, Pick 237 – Now that main positions of need are all addressed the Titans can take a risk on a player that could develop into a star. This is where they find a QB to learn under Tannehill. Patterson will likely still be available here, but if he isn’t they could look at Jake Luton (Or St.), Cole McDonald (Hawaii), Nate Stanley (Iowa), Steven Montez (CO), or Bryce Perkins (UVA).
The QB with the highest ceiling of those listed is Patterson. If he can become more accurate and learn to manage the pocket better he has the tools to become an NFL starter. For that reason the with pick 237 the Titans select…
Round 7, Pick 243 – The Titans have plenty of options at 243. Since they have addressed all positions of need earlier in the draft they could look at WR, RB, OL, or even pick up another DB. However, there is still one more position they could fill in the draft and a very good player likely still on the board they could fill it with.
With their final pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select…
So, there you have it. The Titans address all of their positions of need, get some incredible talent and a couple of sleepers. Most importantly they take two Alabama football players, Terrell Lewis and Shyheim Carter. Built By Bama is becoming not only a mantra surrounding other collegiate teams, but it is now making its way through the NFL and continues with the Titans.
