Bold predictions for Alabama football in the SEC Championship

3. Alabama will get at least 3 sacks

The defensive line group is deep, but the overall production has been down all season. They are getting pressure, but they have not been forcing a ton of sacks. However, the numbers have increased so much in recent weeks.

Christian Barmore is an excellent interior rusher. He wrecks the running game, but he also gets home to the quarterback more than anyone else on the team.

The real emerging star has been Will Anderson. All of his sacks have come in the last three games, but he still has five sacks in 2020. He has always been solid, but he is finally getting home to the quarterback.

Add in the other monsters like Chris Allen and Justin Eboigbe, and this group will be hard to stop on Saturday. Florida has practically no run game, so the Tide will drop in coverage and rely on the line to get pressure. With this group, they should be able to do so.

Kyle Trask is relatively mobile, but he has been sacked often this year. If the Gators fail to score early, they will have to hold onto the football to set up the deep passes. That is when Allen and Anderson will pin their ears back and attack the quarterback. I don’t see how Florida’s offensive line will be able to keep up, and I think that the Crimson Tide will have at least three sacks in this game.
