2021 NFL Mock Draft 3.0

24. Pittsburgh Steelers: Landon Dickerson, OC, Alabama

The Pittsburgh Steelers replace a Pro-Bowl center with a future Pro-Bowl center late in the first round. By selecting Alabama football’s Landon Dickerson, Pittsburgh lands the steal of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Dickerson is cartwheeling into interviews, so he appears to be doing just fine after his ACL injury. If he continues to progress, he will be ready to start by the beginning of the 2021 NFL season.

Dickerson makes highlight plays in every game, and that’s hard to do at center. This position is usually disregarded, but Dickerson is a difference-maker.

He also knows how to make an immediate impact. The Steelers are looking to win right now. Dickerson proved with Alabama football that he knows how to win over a locker room quickly, and that is just what the Steelers need to get back to their winning ways with gritty offensive line play.

Big Ben is no spring chicken. He needs a secure pocket and open receivers. Dickerson solves one of those problems with his technique. He has gone to Pittsburgh in many 2021 NFL mock drafts, and this one is no different.

The Steelers are set at a lot of key positions, and the board doesn’t have great value for them. They can’t get a quarterback of the future, and Alabama football’s Najee Harris is already off the board. They still get a strong starter late in the first.
