Two things can be true at the same time, do we all love Kool-Aid Mckinstry? Absolutely. Is he the answer at punt returner? Absolutely not. The issue of returning punts has lingered all season with issues emerging as early as the USF game and continuing ever since. It appears that Kool-Aid has lost all confidence back to return with a misplay today as well as a fumble that the Alabama Football team was fortunate enough to recover.

After the Fumbled punt Nick Saban sent Caleb Downs out to return and he dazzled. Downs caught his first punt and took it 85 yards for a touchdown going nearly untouched on his way to the endzone.
The next returner doesn’t have to be a player as valuable as a Kool-Aid Mckinstry, Caleb Downs, Isaiah Bond, or even Kendrick Law. It could end up being a player like Jalen Hale, Shazz Preston, or another young player but the returner can’t continue to be Kool-Aid. The issue has provided plenty of scares, yet it hasn’t decimated the Crimson Tide quite as bad as it could of but, in a matchup with a team as dominant as the Georgia Bulldogs you can ill afford to present them a free possession.
