When Kadyn Proctor was selected 12th overall by the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night, it marked the 18th consecutive NFL Draft in which Alabama had at least one first-round pick. When Ty Simpson was selected one pick later at No. 13 by the Los Angeles Rams, it marked the 10th straight year in which the Crimson Tide had multiple first-round picks.
Those are the two longest active streaks in the country, and the 18 consecutive drafts is an all-time record.
Can Alabama extend both of those streaks in the 2027 draft?
Here's the three players with the best chance to do it.
Alabama's most likely 2027 1st Round NFL Draft picks
3. CB Zabien Brown
Zabien Brown has been a two-year starter for the Crimson Tide, already heading into his junior season. He stepped in as a freshman and won a starting job at corner for the Crimson Tide immediately, and has never looked back.
Brown had a penchant for electrifying plays as a sophomore, with two pick-sixes standing out among the top moments of the 2025 season for the Crimson Tide. Brown's pick-six right before the half against Tennessee produced an all-time Bryant-Denny Stadium crowd pop, and then his pick-six against Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff in Norman completed Alabama's 17-point comeback to tie the game before halftime.
Brown is an elite corner, and alongside sophomore Dijon Lee, they may make up the best CB tandem in college football next season. The only thing working against the former 5-star recruit is that he doesn't have elite size, which could cause him to slide into the early second round range. But he's certainly going to be in the day one conversation.
2. DE/LB Yhonzae Pierre
Yhonzae Pierre had his breakout season for the Crimson Tide as a redshirt sophomore. Thrust into a starting role following an early-season injury to Qua Russaw, Pierre took full advantage and never looked back.
Pierre gave Alabama the edge rushing presence they'd been missing, producing eight sacks and morphing into one of the most feared pass rushers in college football.
If his developmental track continues on the same path, Pierre has the potential to rack up double-digit sacks and become an All-American. If he does that, with his physical tools and athletic profile, he's got a real chance of hearing his name called during the first round, if not the Top 10, in the 2027 draft.
1. WR Ryan Coleman-Williams
Following his electrifying freshman season, it seemed obvious that Ryan Coleman-Williams would be a first-round pick in 2027. Following a disappointing sophomore season exacerbated by drops, his standing as a day-one prospect is a lot less certain.
But his ceiling remains enormous. There aren't many on his level in terms of his ability with the ball in his hands. He's a big-time playmaker, and he looks poised for a massive bounce-back during his junior season.
Coleman-Williams had a great spring. If he can have the kind of season it appears he's on the verge of, he'll shoot back up draft boards and be in contention of one of the top WRs off the board in next year's draft.
