Alabama commit Trent Seaborn uses absurd 7v7 stats as springboard to pitch Monshun Sales

All eyes are on Monshun Sales this week as the 5-star WR gets set to make his college commitment on Friday.

While optimism has waned on the Alabama side and most of the smoke surrounds both Indiana and Texas, Sales has been quiet, save for some social media teases. While it would be a bit surprising if his choice was the Crimson Tide, all hope is not yet lost. And whoever he commits to on Friday knows they'll have to hold on for dear life over the next five months until the early signing period. His recruitment won't be over until he officially puts pen to paper in December.

Alabama 4-star QB commit Trent Seaborn is certainly still trying to pitch Sales on joining forces with him in Tuscaloosa.

Seaborn used a moment of praise from a fan on social media over his ridiculous performance in a 7v7 tournament to make his pitch to Sales:

When I say ridiculous, I mean RIDICULOUS in terms of how well Seaborn played in the National Select 7-on-7 tournament:

139-of-159 (87%), 42 touchdowns, 0 interceptions

Seaborn continues to fly under the radar in the 2027 class. Despite dominating the state of Alabama's highest level since he was in 8th grade, he's somehow only the No. 16 overall player in the state in this cycle. He's often discussed as Alabama's "other" quarterback, too, with the Crimson Tide holding a commitment from 5-star Elijah Haven in this class as well.

But Seaborn shouldn't be discounted. He's an exceptional player in his own right, and he's frequently been one of Alabama's biggest player recruiters in this cycle. From the moment he came on board with his own commitment last October, he's pushed for others to do the same.

Seaborn is comfortable playing the long game for the school he grew up cheering for. He's more than happy to follow the Mac Jones/Ty Simpson path to playing time in Tuscaloosa. It worked out for both of those guys. They each parlayed one terrific season as Alabama's starting QB into becoming first-round draft picks.

Seaborn is already a fan-favorite for the Crimson Tide before ever suiting up for a game. That status will be elevated if he plays a role in convincing Sales to join him in Tuscaloosa.
