Alabama lands commitment from 5-star QB Elijah Haven
For the third straight recruiting class, Kalen DeBoer landed a 5-star quarterback.
Joining Keelon Russell (2025) and Jett Thomalla (2026), 5-star Baton Rouge native Elijah Haven, the No. 1 QB in the 2027 class, announced his commitment to Alabama on Saturday, picking the Crimson Tide over Georgia.
Haven should provide some significant momentum on the recruiting trail as DeBoer and the staff get ready for what should be another monster run this summer.
Alabama softball splits two with Tennessee, rubber match to come on Monday
On the road against #8 Tennessee, Alabama softball split the first two games on Saturday and Sunday to head into a rubber match on Monday night in Knoxville.
Alabama dominated the opening game on Saturday, rolling to a 12-0 run-rule win in just five innings. Ace Jocelyn Briski allowed just two hits and struck out five in a dominant effort. Offensively, Brooke Wells homered in the first inning, and the offense never looked back. Small-ball was the story in producing the next eight runs, until Ana Roman cranked out a 3-run homer in the 5th to complete the scoring effort.
Unfortunately, Alabama didn't save any runs for Sunday. In a 2-0 loss, the Crimson Tide managed just one single hit across seven innings. Vic Moten allowed just four hits and two solo homers across six innings, but that's all the Volunteers needed to even the series.
Game three will take place at 6pm CT on the SEC Network on Monday night.
Alabama baseball drops third straight SEC series
Coming off a sweep at the hands of Arkansas at home and a series loss at Texas, where Alabama managed to salvage one game, the Crimson Tide needed a good series in Knoxville.
Things started well on Thursday with the Crimson Tide earning a 12-8 win. Two RBI doubles by Bryce Fowler and another by Peyton Steele got things started, and then Eric Hines smashed a 3-run homer to pace Alabama's offensive effort.
Unfortunately, that offensive effort couldn't last. Alabama managed just four runs across the final two games of the series, falling 10-0 on Friday and 11-4 on Saturday to drop their third straight SEC series.
The Crimson Tide will look to get off the schneid this weekend against Vanderbilt at home.
