Every November, Alabama fans can't wait for the Iron Bowl to arrive so countless haymakers can be landed on Auburn. This is a rivalry that the Crimson Tide have absolutely dominated of late and things aren't expected to change there next season.

Kalen DeBoer sets the expectations for Keelon Russell and Austin Mack this summer

Apparently, Alex Golesh missed the memo. After making the move to town from USF, Golesh is talking with confidence and he's giving the Tigers' faithful a lot to believe in. However, his latest comments are making headlines, and Alabama fans sure are going to remember this moving forward. Could this come back to haunt Golesh to end the regular season?

Alex Golesh has already given Alabama and Kalen DeBoer bulletin-board material

"Yeah, I don't like super care about what the success has been or hasn't been to be totally honest with you," Golesh said. "This team hasn't played Bama, and we'll be prepared to go play Week 12 when it's time to go play."

Goodness. You could tell that Golesh didn't love being reminded that Alabama is now on a six-game winning streak over its hated in-state rival. The Crimson Tide continue to remind Auburn who's boss and while Golesh is ready for that narrative to change, that's going to be easier said than done.

Last season, Alabama posted a close 27-20 win, with Ty Simpson's three touchdown passes making the difference. Whenever these two teams face off, plenty of drama and intrigue are expected to be showcased. Still, six wins in a row is pretty head-turning. Will seven in a row be on the way next fall?

That's what the Bama faithful are hoping for, but it remains to be seen who will be leading the offense out onto the field for that battle. Come fall camp, either Austin Mack or Keelon Russell will be given the keys to the O by Kalen DeBoer. The hope is they can play at a similar kind of level to Simpson, who was just drafted in the first-round by the Rams. If Mack/Russell ends up living up to the hype, it will be trouble for the rest of the SEC, no doubt including Golesh.
