Four-star tight end Mack Sutter committed to the Crimson Tide nearly five months ago, choosing Alabama over other powerhouse programs like the Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, and more.
Then, on Thursday, Nov. 6, Sutter shut down his recruitment process, virtually cementing his commitment to Alabama. After it was announced that he was no longer open to hearing from other teams, the young tight end shared a simple but meaningful message for the Tide.
"Time to work!!" Sutter wrote on X, followed by the beloved hashtag "RTR" and the elephant emoji.
Simply put, Sutter is ready to be part of the Crimson Tide, and the Tide couldn't be happier to have him.
Who is Mack Sutter?
Sutter was the No. 6 tight end in the class of 2026 and the No. 1 overall prospect out of Illinois for the recruiting cycle. He received 43 Division I offers and took 38 visits throughout his recruitment process, including official visits to Alabama, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Illinois.
Despite receiving numerous offers from Big Ten programs, the conference he grew up watching as an Illinois native, Sutter chose to take his talents to the SEC and play for Alabama (even over his home-state team, the Illinois Fighting Illini).

Sutter is part of Alabama's 2026 recruiting class, which ranks fifth in the nation and second in the SEC, only trailing Georgia. The class is headlined by five-star safety Jireh Edwards, five-star linebacker Xavier Griffin, five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan, and five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds.
Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer retained the No. 2 class of 2024 after Nick Saban's retirement, brought in the No. 3 class of 2025, and repeated the top-five success with the upcoming class of prospects.
So far, DeBoer and the Tide have landed four recruits (three four-stars and one three-star) from the class of 2027, landing Alabama at sixth in the national rankings and third in the conference standings.
