The player that would be the biggest get for Kalen DeBoer and his staff early on is second overall recruit and top offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. The Alabama Football team added Jatavis Sanders to its recruiting staff, Sanders was a massive piece of NC State's recruiting operation, and his North Carolina ties will be massive for Kalen DeBoer in landing David Sanders Jr. Kalen DeBoer and offensive line coach Scott Huff made the trip to Charlotte this past week to meet with the top tackle and seemingly made a good impression.

The group that Kalen DeBoer and his staff will have the best pitch to is the wide receiver group, with Rome Odunze headed to the NFL Draft as a projected top-ten pick and Receivers coach Jamarcus Shephard on DeBoer's Alabama Staff. One of the receivers that is popping up often in this early stage of recruiting is Georgia native CJ Wiley. The Alabama coaching staff visited Wiley twice at his High School offering Wiley a scholarship, and Wiley in turn visited on Junior Day. Wiley spoke on the visit saying the following:

"The visit was great they checked the boxes."

Another receiver in attendance was four-star receiver Travis Smith Jr out of Atlanta who received an offer this weekend. Smith is the 26th-ranked receiver in the class and the 229th-ranked player overall in the class. At 6 foot 4 Smith has all of the tools to produce at the next level and should be a riser through the rankings this Fall.

We've seen Kalen DeBoer bring over a former Washington commit in Noah Carter and they'll try to do the same with recent Washington de-commit Josiah Sharma. Sharma is a three-star defensive lineman out of California who received an offer from Alabama at the end of January. Sharma is ranked as the 60th-ranked defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class.

One of the names to watch going forward will be tight end Chase Loftin a tight-end prospect out of Nebraska. Loftin came away from the visit saying it's one of his favorite visits he's been on but, won't be offered yet by the new staff. Tight ends coach Nick Sheridan seemingly has built a good relationship with Loftin and it may be key in landing Loftin.
