The Alabama Football program is fresh off one of its more important recruiting weekends where they hosted 11, 2025 recruits on official visits and several 2026, and 2027 recruits at camp this week. The Tide exited the weekend with two commitments from three-star defensive tackle London Simmons and Punter Alex Asparuhov while making significant impressions on a few other recruits. This summer, including this weekend's duo of commitments the Crimson Tide have landed six commitments.
This upcoming weekend will arguably be the most important weekend for the Alabama Football program. We'll be sure to talk about it as the week progresses, but during the week, Alabama will have a small, very important group on campus.
The Tide will host two recruits on campus starting Monday for midweek visits with five-star receiver Kaliq Lockett and four-star tight end Kaleb Edwards.
The Tide wasn't a serious player in the recruitment of Kaliq Lockett until they landed a commitment from Keelon Russell. Lockett is also a Texas Native ranked as On3's 2nd-ranked receiver and the 12th-ranked player in the class. Alabama was able to land this visit as Lockett and Keelon Russell have talked about teaming up in college.
Making a strong impression on Kaliq Lockett may also give the Crimson Tide a good chance at fellow five-stars Dakorien Moore and former Alabama commit Jaime Ffrench as the trio has had talks about playing together. The Crimson Tide will need to overcome in-state Texas, LSU, and Florida State, but, this staff has been making strong impressions all summer.
Also on campus this week will be four-star tight end Kaleb Edwards, ranked by On3 as the fifth-ranked tight end in the class and the 122nd-best player. The Crimson Tide got Kaleb Edwards on campus in April where they extended an offer. Kalen DeBoer and his staff have a preexisting relationship with Edwards as they offered him last year while at Washington.
The Tide are right in the mix for Edwards ahead of his commitment in July but, they'll have to outbattle UCLA, Washington, and Texas. The Tide are doing a great job at the tight end position as they're in a great place with four-star Nick Townsend and three-star Marshall Pritchett who was on campus this weekend.
A strong impression on Kaliq Lockett would go a long way
The Crimson Tide needs to make a strong impression on Kaliq Lockett this week as it could mean a ton. If the Tide don't land Lockett, he'll likely play against the Tide in the SEC either at LSU or Texas. Impressing the Texas Native could also get the Tide a visit with Dakorien Moore, the Nation's top receiver and Keelon Russell's high school teammate. We keep asking when Kalen DeBoer will land his first five-star and making a run at Lockett could give DeBoer his first.
