The Alabama Football team has once again hit the transfer portal landing Texas A&M transfer offensive lineman Naquil Betrand. Betrand will come to the Alabama Football program with four years of eligibility remaining. Betrand was a three-star recruit in the 2023 recruiting class as an offensive tackle out of Pennsylvania. When announcing his transfer, he told Hayes Fawcett of On3 the following:

"I feel as if nobody develops players better than Bama."

Betrand will have an opportunity to compete for the starting right tackle job with JC Latham in all likelihood departing for the NFL Draft. He will compete against Elijah Pritchett and Miles Mcvay for the job at right tackle. In all likelihood, he will be a developmental offensive lineman for the Alabama Football team.

Offensive linemen were the biggest need for the Alabama Football program following early signing day after missing out on Auburn's commit Favour Edwin. When Nick Saban was asked about pursuing offensive linemen following signing day he described the team as "In the market" for additional numbers at the position.

The Alabama Football team has now addressed three of its needs in the transfer portal after earlier landing Domani Jackson and LT Overton a former teammate of Betrand.

Alabama Football: Roster questions being answered via the transfer portal

The Alabama Football team is answering a lot of 2024 roster questions via the transfer portal so far. With expected departures for the NFL Draft at Right Tackle, Edge rusher, and cornerback those were the three biggest needs entering the offseason. I'd expect to see Alabama Football add another cornerback and an edge rusher still to add depth to the positions they'll have holes at with the NFL Draft upcoming. The other position they may add is a running back with only one in this years signing class.
