Best case scenario for Bama’s 2025 offensive line haul?
The Alabama Crimson Tide’s 2025 recruiting class is really starting to come together, as Kalen DeBoer and company have landed four verbal commitments in the last two weeks. Bama’s 14-man class is currently ranked 3rd nationally, and Alabama seems to be in good position for several more blue-chip recruits.
Its two most recent commits, Michael Carroll and Mal Waldrep, provided the first look at Alabama’s offensive line of the future. Outside of spring transfer portal additions, Carroll and Waldrep were the first two offensive linemen to be handpicked by DeBoer and his staff to join the program.
This duo is a very solid foundation upon which Bama will construct its new-look offensive lines under Chris Kapilovic.
Bama’s top offensive line targets
As the recruiting cycle progresses, Alabama will continue to add to its offensive line class. As usual, it is targeting some of the best earth-movers in the country. 5-star Ty Haywood is generally considered to be one of the top five tackles in the class and would be a massive pickup. He has shown serious interest in Alabama, and would have to be considered its top offensive line target given his talent and the mutual interest.
4-star tackle Jackson Lloyd is another priority target. Lloyd is one of several key prospects that will be on campus this weekend, so Alabama has an opportunity to make a lasting impression, if not seal the deal.
4-star Micah DeBose is a top-200 target out of Mobile. The Tide’s 14-man class currently consists of just five in-state commits, including a player in linebacker Myles Johnson who is widely expected to eventually de-commit. While DeBoer and his staff have done a good job of building this class, more of an emphasis on homegrown, in-state talent could prove to be valuable.
If the Crimson Tide is able to land Haywood, Lloyd, and DeBose, it will have a five-man offensive line class good enough to rival anybody in the country. It would be pretty easy to see this group developing under Kapilovic and eventually being the driving force behind a championship-contending team in Tuscaloosa.
