Texas has officially entered the chat for Monshun Sales and that's probably not the news Kalen DeBoer wanted to hear.
Sales, a five-star wide receiver from Indianapolis, announced Alabama as one his top four programs several weeks ago and has a scheduled official visit with the Crimson Tide on the agenda. But the Longhorns have now joined the party and are trying to mess everything up. They offered Sales earlier this month and will have one of the top wide receivers in the country on campus this week.

Sales has scheduled his official visits starting next weekend at Indiana and followed by his trip to Alabama on May 29, Ohio State on June 12 and Miami on June 19. There is room for more official visits during this stretch and the Longhorns are going to try to squeeze in there.
5-star WR Monshun Sales will give Texas a good look
Sales is a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver and has a case for being the best in his position in this class. He has long been linked to the first four schools and appeared to have otherwise shut down his recruitment. The good news is that Sales has often been linked to the Tide. He was born around Birmingham and considers himself a native to the state.
The recruiting battle for Sales was already expected to be fierce and the addition of Texas means that Alabama will have to out recruit another SEC team on top of the defending national champions and two other playoff teams.Â
It has been pretty slow treading for Alabama during this recruiting cycle, but a commitment from in-state offensive lineman Avrian Pauley over the weekend speaks to the expectation that the Tide will get hot on the trail pretty soon. DeBoer would love nothing more than to kickstart that surge with a commitment from Sales. Alabama is still considered to be the heavy favorite for Sales, with an 81% chance of a commitment according to On3/Rivals, but, as Texas' late entry proves, this recruitment is far from over.
