The best plays of Week 3 from former Alabama football stars

Bryce Young scrambles for a TD to get the party started against the Falcons

Bryce Young has not got to enjoy many comfortable victories in his short NFL career. He's used to playing from behind and having to battle until the final whistle. On Sunday against the Falcons, the Panthers were dominant from the opening whistle en route to a 30-0 win. Young got things started with a clean opening drive capped off by a touchdown run on a scramble:

Will Reichard sets a Vikings record with 62-yard field goal

There weren't a lot of interesting notes from the Vikings-Bengals game on Sunday. With Joe Burrow injured, the Bengals are a dumpster fire, and the Vikings treated them as such. But it was another opportunity to watch Will Reichard and his magical leg.

With Minnesota already leading 31-3 early in the second quarter (lol), Reichard nailed a 62-yard field goal, a career-long and a new Vikings franchise record:

Jalen Hurts throws a game-winning TD pass to DeVonta Smith

The Eagles had a spectacular come-from-behind win on Sunday against the Rams. Trailing 26-7 in the second half, Jalen Hurts led Philadelphia all the way back, capped by what proved to be the game-winning touchdown pass to, of course, DeVonta Smith:

The play was awesome, perhaps only topped by Smith's reaction to seeing it after the game.

Xavier McKinney picks off a pass intended for Jerry Jeudy

One thing you're going to get every week is some Bama-on-Bama crime. That happened during the Browns/Packers matchup when Packers safety Xavier McKinney picked off a pass intended for Browns WR Jerry Jeudy:

Jeudy and Cleveland got the last laugh, however, with a stunning comeback win.

Mack Wilson decleats Christian McCaffrey near the goal line

Former Alabama LB Mack Wilson is an easy guy to cheer for. He bounced around a lot and looked to be headed out of the league not that long ago. Instead, he's found a home with the Arizona Cardinals, and turned into a pretty good player and team captain.

He showed why on Sunday by absolutely decleating 49ers RB Christian McCaffey, who was trying to haul in a pass from Mac Jones on a 4th and goal:

Mac Jones leads a game-winning drive to lift the 49ers to victory

Trailing 15-13 with under two-minutes to go, Mac Jones delivered for the 49ers by leading them down the field to connect on a game-winning field goal:

Jones was thrust into action for the 49ers the last two weeks due to an injury to starter Brock Purdy. He's now led San Fran to a 2-0 record, and everyone is starting to see what Alabama fans already knew.

Derrick Henry breaks free for a 28-yard TD run

Derrick Henry was disappointed with his performance a week ago in a blowout win over the Browns as he managed just 23 yards on 11 carries. He vowed to bounce back on Monday Night Football against the Lions, and it took him just a few touches to make good on that promise.

During Baltimore's opening drive of the night, Henry broke free for a 28-yard touchdown. It looked like so many of his touchdowns have looked over the years. He finds the crease, hits the hole hard, then makes a cut and outruns everyone to the goal line:

Jahmyr Gibbs gives the Lions the lead in the 4th quarter on a trick play

On a 4th-and-1 from the 4-yard line and a tie game at the beginning of the fourth quarter, Lions head coach Dan Campbell dialed up a trick play that Jahymr Gibbs paid off for his second TD of the night to give Detroit the lead.

Jared Goff handed the ball off to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who then pitched the ball to Gibbs, who strolled into the endzone untouched:
