Alabama Crimson Tide news and notes:

Kalen DeBoer dismissed Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. from Alabama team after another arrest

Alabama safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., the son of the former Crimson Tide All-American and first-round pick to the Cincinnati Bengals in 2012, was officially dismissed from the Crimson Tide on Tuesday after more details were released from his arrest last week.

Kirkpatrick was initially suspended for a violation of team rules heading into Saturday's matchup against Texas A&M, and since then, more details have emerged. Kirkpatrick was arrested and charged with doxing and harassing communications of a UA police officer.

Kirkpatrick allegedly sent a threatening message to the UA police officer who arrested him last year and then posted a photo of that officer on his Facebook page. DeBoer said the following in a statement when announcing Kirkpatrick's dismissal:

"After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program. He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players."

Alabama football is building momentum in the 2027 and 2028 recruiting cycles

DeBoer and his staff are building some buzz in both the 2027 and 2028 recruiting cycles this week.

On Monday, in-state offensive lineman Xavier Endicott from Oxford, who picked up an offer from the Crimson Tide while in town for his official visit this past weekend, announced his commitment to Alabama.

Endicott is the second offensive line commitment for Alabama in this cycle.

Alabama has a chance to land another 2027 prospect this week with 3-star CB Preston Glasco set to announce his commitment. Alabama was once seen as the favorite in his recruitment, though confidence has waned with a decision imminent.

Alabama is also making a serious push to flip 4-star Florida State safety commit Jernard Albright, who has taken two trips to Tuscaloosa in the last three weeks. He'll be one to keep an eye on with just over a month until the early signing period.

2028 remains a big focus for this staff, too. 4-star Tyzon Swann, a Top 30 prospect in the 2028 class, is one of the Tide's top targets. Rivals/On3 VP Steve Wiltfong placed an expert prediction for Alabama to ultimately land Swann, who has said multiple times in the last couple of months that Alabama was the leader in his recruitment.

Alabama-LSU set for rare afternoon kickoff in Baton Rouge on November 7th

Alabama is in the midst of a much-needed bye week, but kickoff time was officially set for the Crimson Tide's critical showdown against LSU in Baton Rouge on November 7th.

And for the first time since 2010, Alabama will face LSU on the road in the afternoon slot. It had been the primetime slot for the last seven meetings between the two. It's a pretty big break for Alabama to avoid the night game in Death Valley, though the Crimson Tide has largely been impervious to its effects with a 30-10-3 all-time record in Baton Rouge.

Alabama women's basketball rolls past Mississippi College in exhibition

Alabama women's basketball wrapped up its preseason slate in Pauline Love's first season as the head coach on Tuesday with an 88-40 win over Mississippi College.

Sophomore guard Ace Austin led the way with 21 points and 9 assists. Tianna Chambers (16) and Naomi Jones (10) also scored in double figures to pace the Tide's offensive effort.

The Love-era will officially begin on Monday with Alabama hosting Queens College in Tuscaloosa at 6pm CT. You can watch that game on the SEC Network+.
