Saying that Kalen DeBoer and Alabama are on a heater on the recruiting trail would be selling it too short. This, truly, is something else.

If you thought last season's summer recruiting run was special, it's starting to pale in comparison to what DeBoer and GM Courtney Morgan are putting together for the 2026 class.

In June alone, Alabama has landed eight commitments. That number will jump to 10 if predictions prove prophetic for 5-star LB Xavier Griffin and 3-star WR Owen Cabell, who will make their announcements on Sunday and Monday, respectively.

Things aren't projected to slow down in July either, with predictions in for Alabama to land 3-star WR Brian Williams, 5-star WR Cederian Morgan, and 5-star S Jireh Edwards. Now, you can add another blue-chip prospect to that list.

Alabama recruiting insider Andrew Bone and On3 national recruiting insider Steve Wiltfong both logged predictions on Saturday for the Crimson Tide to land 4-star DL Nolan Wilson, who is scheduled to announce his decision on July 4th:

Along with Alabama, Wilson took official visits this summer to Auburn, Ole Miss, and Miami (FL). The Hurricanes have made this more interesting than many thought, but Freddie Roach's early relationship with Wilson looks to be helping the Crimson Tide get to the finish line.

Alabama was the first FBS school to offer Wilson in October of last year, a fact that he hasn't soon forgotten. His recruitment has blown up from there, but an early evaluation by the Crimson Tide seems to have made all the difference.

Nolan Wilson is as important of a recruit left on the board for Alabama

Football continues to be a game won at the line of scrimmage, regardless of the fly-by-night, fancy offensive concepts cooked up by the best and brightest offensive coaches. None of that scheme matters if you get your butt-whipped up front.

Alabama's talent on the defensive line has been lagging behind in recent seasons. That could change in 2025 with the uber-talented LT Overton and James Smith, along with the always reliable veteran Tim Keenan. But adding more young talent to the room is a necessity for the future.

Alabama recently missed on Titan Davis, who chose Michigan over the Crimson Tide. They can ill-afford to miss out on Wilson, too.

Alabama recently added 3-star DL JJ Finch to this class, a player whose offer list far outweighs his recruiting ranking. They also have versatile players like Kamhariyan Johnson and Jamarion Matthews committed, who could factor in at multiple positions defensively.

Alabama could also add 5-star Anthony 'Tank' Jones, who figures to start out as a Wolf LB in Kane Wommack's scheme, but could ultimately grow into a Bandit.

Adding Jones and Wilson to what Alabama already has would be a major coup for DeBoer and solidify the future of the Tide's defensive line.
