While we're currently in a recruiting dead period until July 25th, there are still massive storylines to follow. Players across the country are still announcing their commitments as we've seen with the commitments of Justin Hill and Kaleb Edwards. One of the biggest recruiting events of the Summer is On3's recruiting re-rankings as the top prospects are re-ranked.

The Alabama Football team saw guard Michael Carroll take a massive leap to five-star status. Before the rankings were updated Carroll was ranked as On3's 27th ranked player and the 137th ranked player in the Industry Rankings with his boost he's now On3's 12th ranked player and ranked 92nd in the industry rankings.

Top Alabama Football target Ty Haywood remained a five-star in the adjusted rankings going from the eighth-ranked player to the seventh-ranked player jumping Ohio State Commit Na'eem Offord. The Tide will need to beat out Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Florida State for Haywood, but they appear to be in the driver's seat.

Keelon Russell took a massive jump however, he wasn't named one of the 15 five-star players in this class. This comes as a bit of a surprise as Russell has won the Elite 11 MVP and the Rivals Five-Star Quarterback Challenge. Russell is now ranked as On3's 37th Ranked Player and the 6th-ranked quarterback in the class.

Eventually, On3 will expand to 32 five-star recruits in lock step with the NFL's 32 first round picks. The Tide also have Jackson Lloyd ranked in the top 32 at 26 while Alabama targets Caleb Cunningham, Akylin Dear, and Ty Jackson are all ranked within the top 32 but, aren't yet five-stars.

Only One Recruiting Weekend Left in the Summer

Once the recruiting dead period ends, the Alabama Football program will host recruits again on July 28th. The Tide will have several key commitments returning to campus to help in the recruiting push as Keelon Russell, Dijon Lee, Dawson Merritt, Chuck McDonald, Micah DeBose, Duke Johnson, Jaedon Harmon, and London Simmons will be at the event along with a few others. It'll be massive if Alabama can get top targets Caleb Cunningham, Kaliq Lockett, Akylin Dear, Ty Haywood, Justus Terry, and Ty Jackson on campus before they announce their commitments.
