Kadyn Proctor enters the transfer portal

The transfer portal exodus continues for the Alabama Football team as starting left tackle Kadyn Proctor has entered the transfer portal. Proctor was the top offensive tackle recruit in the 2023 recruiting class and the fifth-ranked prospect overall. The freshman started every game this season for the Alabama Football team at left tackle.

While Proctor had his struggles this season sharing time at tackle with Elijah Pritchett, he did develop as the year progressed with Left Tackle being one of the hardest positions for a true freshman to play. Losing a true freshman who earned valuable reps certainly hurts but, after allowing 48 sacks in 2023 the offensive line was certainly going to undergo changes. According to Pro Football Focus Kadyn Proctor was responsible for 32.8% of the pressures on Jalen Milroe.

The replacement for Kadyn Proctor will most likely be either Elijah Pritchett or Miles McVay with the other player likely slotting in at right tackle. Incoming transfer Naquil Betrand from Texas A&M will also compete for a starting role if he decides to stay. Pritchett has the most experience of the trio splitting snaps with Proctor at left tackle for parts of the season.

The offensive line will have a few holes to fill with the departures of Proctor at Left Tackle, JC Latham at right tackle, and Seth McLaughlin at center. The transfers of Proctor, McLaughlin, and Terrence Ferguson have certainly made a position that seemed pretty set a need for the Alabama Football team.

2025 Edge Rusher Zion Grady de-commits

The Alabama Football 2025 recruiting class saw its third player revoke their commitment as four-star edge rusher Zion Grady de-committed. Grady committed to Alabama Football after the Crimson Tide's November win over the Kentucky Wildcats. Grady cited a lack of communication for his decision saying the following:

"I am still open, but the communication has to be there."

Zion Grady

Hopefully, Kalen DeBoer and Courtney Morgan can reach out to Grady and get him back on board with the Alabama Football program as the talented Alabama native is an important part of the 2025 recruiting class.

Jabbar Muhammad plans a visit to Tuscaloosa

There's finally some good news as Washington transfer cornerback Jabbar Muhammad plans to visit Tuscaloosa this week according to On3. Muhammad is one of the top cornerbacks in the transfer portal and would be a massive add for Kalen DeBoer. Muhammad totaled 41 tackles, three interceptions, and 14 pass defenses for the Huskies. Muhammad is visiting both the Alabama Football program and the Texas Longhorns. Muhammad would be a massive get for the Alabama Football program and would be a plug-and-play cornerback opposite transfer Domani Jackson.

Alabama offers 2025 recruit Micah DeBose

If anyone doubted Kalen DeBoer recruiting in the state of Alabama, he's already made a strong push in the state of Alabama offering four-star tackle Micah DeBose. DeBose already made an offer but, DeBoer and former Alabama Football player Haha Clinton-Dix offering the tackle has seemingly excited DeBose. DeBoer and his staff have shown urgency in pursuing DeBose with Jamey Mosley visiting DeBose in Mobile and DeBoer speaking with his high school coach on Tuesday.

Washington transfer edge rusher Noah Carter crystal balled to Alabama

The writers at 24/7 Sports have submitted Crystal balls for Washington Edge Rusher predicting he'll follow Kalen DeBoer to Alabama. Carter originally signed with the Huskies but with DeBoer's departure, he's reconsidering his recruitment. Noah Carter is the eighth-ranked edge rusher in the class and the second-ranked player in the State of Arizona. Adding Carter would be a massive signing for Kalen DeBoer with all of the latest transfers putting a dent in the roster's depth.

Washington transfer Parker Brailsford plans a visit to Tuscaloosa

The starting Center for Kalen DeBoer's Huskies Parker Brailsford has planned a visit to Tuscaloosa for this weekend. Brailsford started every game for the Huskies winning All Pac-12 second team honors, finishing as a runner-up to Caleb Downs in the Shaun Alexander award race, and being named a freshman All-American. Landing Brailsford would be massive for Kalen DeBoer in replacing Terrence Ferguson and Seth McLaughlin to the transfer portal.

Alabama Football: The counterpunch is coming

While the Alabama Football team is losing key players now with 28 players entering the transfer portal you can fully expect a massive counterpunch in the Spring. On April 15th a new transfer portal window will open allowing players to enter the transfer portal for fifteen days. The Alabama Football program will have its coaches in place and plenty of extra roster spots to fill.

The next three weeks the Alabama Football team will continue to lose players to the transfer portal as the thirty-day window still has three weeks to run its course. However, once things settle down Kalen DeBoer and General Manager Courtney Morgan will have time to assess the roster and determine which positions they'll need to pursue heavily.

DeBoer and Morgan have used the portal to rebuild on the fly as they turned the Washington Huskies from 4-8 to national championship contenders in two seasons. In 2023, they brought in ten transfers with a few making massive contributions in a season that ended with the Huskies playing for a National Championship. In 2022, DeBoer brought in nine recruits to help turn a team that went 4-8 into an 11-2 team.
