Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Football program continue their dominance on the recruiting trail this time landing four-star linebacker Abduall Sanders Jr. Sanders Jr is the 36th ranked linebacker in the class and the 33rd-ranked player from California. Sanders Jr plays at Mater Dei a school the Alabama football program has landed Bryce Young from and transfer Domani Jackson. The linebacker is DeBoer's second four-star linebacker landed in two days after landing Darrell Johnson Jr on Wednesday.
Likely playing a huge role in landing Sanders was Alabama Linebacker's coach Christian Robinson who was pushing for Sander while coaching at Baylor. Sanders came to Alabama in February for Junior Day and is currently in town for an Unofficial Visit.
After the de-commitments when DeBoer took over the Alabama 2025 recruiting class was ranked in the mid-thirties. After bringing in five four-star recruits the Alabama Class is up to the eighth overall class in the nation.
The "Nick Saban Discount" of taking less because you were likely headed to the NFL was a major reason why many thought the program would struggle in recruiting. There's seemed to be no drop off under DeBoer with five commitments and several players crystal balled to Alabama.
The position to watch is now quarterback for the program on the recruiting trail as the class is yet to land a quarterback. DeBoer and company have been pushing for Georgia native Julian Lewis while Deuce Knight and KJ Lacey are names to watch.
Can DeBoer make a statement with this class?
The biggest detractor to Kalen DeBoer was his lackluster history recruiting while at Washington with classes that finished outside the top 25. DeBoer is now off to a roaring start with the 2025 class and the question now becomes can he finish with the top class? Every recruit that's visited Tuscaloosa has talked with how impressive the new coaching staff is meaning the Tide will be in play for every recruit that takes a visit. The Tide are in the finalists for several top recruits while others may be committing in the near future.
